We are providing descriptions of both versions of our respective styles as we transition from one to the next. While the specifications, fit, and most of the technical features remain the same, we have made key changes to improve overall performance. Proof that the best can always get better The OSPREY. Amphibious Boonie Crown / Slim Brim Width The style that started it all, the Osprey features a slim brim shape that protects the tips of the ears and the back of the neck from harmful UV rays. The No Sag headband, brim technology, and the fact that it floats make this style a favorite for those who spend as much time in the water as they do on it. Designed to offer sun protection a step up from a cap, the Osprey’s slim brim width doesn’t interfere with athletes and adventurers who need space around the head for arm movement, work in tight spaces, or wear noise-reducing earmuffs. It also offers a back-pull cinch to tighten for micro-size adjustments or extreme weather conditions. Stores easily by lying flat or folding in half. The OSPREY V2. Amphibious Boonie Crown / Slim Brim Width All the specs and features of the Osprey V2 remain the same as the Osprey, except for these improvements: - The interior stash pocket that was made with fabric has been updated by using a combination of both mesh and fabric for better breathability. - A foam insert fits inside the stash pocket for improved flotation, extra insulation in cooler climates, and a more structured crown. It can be removed if not needed. - We added two additional buttonholes to the brim for more chin cord options and for attaching the legionnaire neck shield and H20 chin strap. - The flat cord under-brim locker loop has been replaced by a round elastic cord for more strength. - A silicone gel pattern has been added to the headband's forehead for extra grip and comfort. The RAPTOR V2. 5-Panel Sports Crown / Narrow Brim Width This 5-panel style is a direct result of feedback from those who needed more shade than the Osprey and a crown that managed perspiration better. The moisture-wicking side mesh panels and full headband absorb sweat to transfer, then evaporate, through the laser-cut venting holes and breathable fabric. The mesh panels can also be dipped in cold water for a temporary cooling effect. This crown style sits snugly on your head and has a top vapor panel to promote airflow and breath ability. Designed and built for fitness-based sports or activities where a narrow brim is a must for clearance without arm interference. Also, fully amphibious with a hidden stash pocket to store the removable chin cord. The FALCON. 5-Panel Sports Crown / Narrow Brim Width All the specs and tech features of the Falcon are the same as the Raptor V2, except for these adjustments: - We removed the front stash pocket for a lighter and more breathable crown. A gap vent has been added to the back part of the crown to allow more heat to escape. Can also be used as a stash pocket for the chin cord system. - More laser cut holes were added to the side panel pattern for more venting and breath-ability. - Two additional buttonholes are added to the brim for more chin cord options and for attaching the legionnaire neck shield and H20 chin strap. - The flat cord under brim locker loop has been replaced by a round elastic cord for more strength. - A silicone gel pattern has been added to the headband's forehead for extra grip and comfort. The Seahawk, a stylish Boonie, is equipped with our “No Sag” moisture-wicking headband, a full mesh liner for optimal air circulation, and large eyelets that allow hot air to escape or water to drain. This versatile design is genuinely amphibious, excelling both in water and on land. Don't overlook the concealed inside pocket, perfect for stashing the removable chin cord or small flat objects. Popular among all outdoor enthusiasts, the Seahawk's "NoFlop" brim, "No Sag" Headband, and its buoyant quality have earned it acclaim among water sports enthusiasts worldwide. The Seahawk v2. AIR-Vent Boonie Crown / Medium Brim Width The same shape and dimensions of our most popular selling Seahawk style, the Landhawks crown has been changed by removing the inside pocket and adding more venting. This created a crown that is lighter and offers more air flow to keep your head cooler. The full vapor mesh liner keeps the fabric from sticking to your scalp and allows hot air to escape through the breathable fabric and laser cut venting holes. The moisture wicking headband absorbs perspiration. then transfers it through the fabric to evaporate. Outer loops are provided to attach small items or sunglasses. While meant for land use and warmer climates, it functions well in the water. Lays flat or can be folded in half. The landHAWK V2. AIR-Vent Boonie Crown / Medium Brim Width All the specs and features of the Landhawk V2 remain the same as the Landhawk, except for these changes: - Due to popular demand, we added a stash pocket consisting of both Eco-tech fabric and mesh with a partial Velcro closure. - Two additional buttonholes are added to the brim for more chin cord options and for attaching the legionnaire neck shield and H20 chin strap. - The flat cord under-brim locker loop has been replaced by a round elastic cord for more strength. - A silicone gel pattern has been added to the headband's forehead for extra grip and comfort. - Laser cut holes were added to the Vent-tech side pattern for more ventilation and breathability. The FIREBIRD V2 5-Panel Sports Crown / Wide Brim Width The technical 5-panel design of this hat mirrors the Raptor V2, with the sole distinction of featuring a broader brim for enhanced shade coverage. Its functionality is further elevated by moisture-wicking side mesh panels and a full headband that not only absorb sweat but facilitate its transfer and evaporation through strategically placed laser-cut venting holes and breathable fabric. For an additional cooling effect, the mesh panels can be submerged in cold water temporarily. The top vapor panel effectively allows moisture to escape, preventing the fabric from adhering to the skin. The CONDOR. AIR-Vent Traditional Crown / Angled Wide Brim Width Our more traditional looking style, the Condor was designed for warmer temperatures and more sun protection. It features a slightly taller crown for more air flow and a wide downward angled brim for more shade than our other styles. Very lightweight, the fully wrapped vapor mesh liner keeps the fabric off of your scalp and allows air to escape through the breathable fabric and laser cut venting holes. The venting holes are strategically placed for maximum venting with minimum sun exposure. The No Sag headband, No Flop brim and the fact that it floats, makes the Condor fully amphibious. It also features exterior locker loops for attaching small items or sunglasses to the crown The CONDOR v2. AIR-Vent Traditional Crown / Angled Wide Brim Width All the specs and features of the Condor V2 are the same as the Condor except for these improvements. - Due to popular demand, we added a stash pocket consisting of both Eco-tech fabric and mesh with a partial Velcro closure. - A foam insert fits inside the stash pocket for better flotation, extra insulation for cooler climates and gives the crown a more structured look.
